"Never Blend In" Bracelet - Available Now

Feature: Harvey Milk wristbands: Never Blend In - Blue on White.

Like the yellow bracelet that encourages us to unite against cancer, this white bracelet encourages all of us to stand together against tyrannies of the majority, wherever they may occur and whether they affect us personally or not. Wear this bracelet to communicate your belief that the law should not be leveraged by a majority to prohibit the peaceful activities of a minority – or used to force minorities to "blend in".

Note: All proceeds from the bracelets will be used to 1) make more of them 2) pay for hosting of this site 3) give to a charity who will further our cause.

Never Blend In

Minorities of all types have always been in the front lines of the battle for equality under the law. The message and color of the white bracelet honors the life and name of Harvey Milk, who like Martin Luther King was a minority leader whose message of hope transcended the issues of his day. 30 years ago, in perhaps his most important victory, Milk campaigned against The Briggs Initiative, which sought to ban openly gay and lesbian teachers from public schools in California. Because of his fight and the support of millions of voters, Proposition 6 was defeated at the polls in November 1978. His assassination later that same month saddened many across the political spectrum and silenced an important political voice. Harvey Milk would have celebrated his 78th birthday in 2008.

Speech Writing: How To Write A Good One?

Speech writing is in lots of ways similar writing a paper, apart from that there is no penalty for spelling and punctuation mistakes. You should not try to write words in your speech that you are not relaxed pronouncing or don't know the meaning of because it can lead to a less fluently delivered speech.

To be able to write a high-quality speech is a lot like making a good cake. Having the right elements is key for it's success. Every… Continue

Not going back to that closet

I frequently get emails from my family updating me on who's doing what, how their kids are doing and what not. I enjoy them for the most part because we don't get together very often, we are all very busy. My cousin and his wife are ministers and missionaries and she had started to include me in her proselytizing emails to send them money so they could take their now teen sons to India for a mission to "fed the hungry children and spread the word of god". I thought I had made it clear to my fami… Continue
